Detroit is going to the dogs.
I couldn't resist, since, apparently, it’s true,
Abandon by the thousands,
Mostly pit bull or pit bull mix, they say,
People there who care about dogs, that is.
70,000 abandon structures, along with discarded
cars,
Provide shelter for the discarded crime deterrents
In the dystopian present.
Motor city no more,
The factories are up on blocks in the front yard,
Skeletal, chained up guard dogs,
Out of a job
With nothing left to steal.
More animal lovers , animal activists need to stand together for the Detroit Dogs .
