Forty Pound Bags of Comfort

Flames lick up behind the glass
Fueled by ancient tech,
Driven by modern convenience.
A slurry of cellulose compressed
To pellets electrically augured
To the heating element
At the bottom of the fire box.
A fan blows through baffles delivering heat.
Comfort at the flip of a switch.
Five bucks a bag, in season
At Menard’s.
