Squint Adjustment

I’ve got my backup glasses on
Causing me to trust my fingers
To find the right letters on the keyboard
Or, if I tilt my head just so
And close one eye or the other,
Things clear up a bit.
I’ve tried that with you,
But you’re still as much a mystery
As you always were,
No clearer than the day we met
That day in my perpetual fog.
I could stand on my head
But it appears there are some things
I will never understand
No matter how hard I squint.
